Sugar n' Splice, show at OhNo!Doom Gallery in Chicago

hello! I haven't updated this blog for a while. I was in Japan for 2 months running away from NY snow, sipping tea and eating Mikan.  Now I'm back in NY!

I'm in a 4 person show at Oh No! Doom Gallery in Chicago this March. I'm creating new pieces right now, I will update the images soon~

Opening:"Lady's night" at My Plastic Heart Gallery

And the second opening was at the my plastic heart gallery in lower east side.I love the name "my plastic Heart!" My new works: My Lady of St. Craft series were shown!  I had a quite tough time making those images. A lot of painting over and redrawing. But I really enjoyed painting those lace and yarn details. I think I will do more of that in the future! some photos from the opening

Opening: Giggling Bubbling---Da gallery

Hi. last Friday I had 2 group shows openings in NYC.The first one was at the Da Gallery which is owned by non-profit organizations of Korean American Association Greater NY. 37 artists from around the world who create arts about unique human connection with the nature. I had an original silkscreen print of Cave seal and a girl. Here are some photos from the opening!

Post It!

I think my work can't be more bright and colorful as this one! This is for a "Post It" show at Giant Robot LA in Dec.  Each artists have to use Post it as a base, I thought why not I go all the way with stationary?!  So I got different sparkly stickers to play with, it was super fun project!

Too Tiny Books!

I've been working on little books for "the tiny too show" which opens in Dec,LA.  They were looking for original art work that is smaller than 3 by 3 inches. So I decided to make a small fold out books. I haven't put the front and back covers yet, but here is the inside images. Making these books really made me miss creating hand made books!  I think my next projects would be creating a tiny book store full of these!

There is a great write up about the Dali exhibit in New York Times!http://www.nytimes.com/2010/09/03/arts/design/03dali.html this article is quite interesting and make us very excited about going there and perform in front of his paintings.

And our event is now posted on High Museums' website.   Atlanta, here we come! http://www.high.org/main.taf?p=4,3,2&eventId=662&eventTypeId=4

Update on our Dali Dresses: Ants have legs now!!!  looks creepier, prefect for the Dali-ween :-)

Making of Dali Mustache 4

We are now trying to figure out the construction of the Dali mustache.  This time it will be skinny and long, so it will only covers our heads + since Dali mustache has a small gap in the middle, we are making 2 separate ones. Now do you have any suggestions how we can keep the mustache up??? that's our home work for today!
